Physical Surveillance I & II

*This can be a physically demanding course. Show up healthy and drink lots of water.

In an increasingly unpredictable security environment, individuals, organizations, and communities face a growing range of threats—many of which are preceded by observable patterns of behavior. Criminal actors, hostile surveillance teams, and other adversaries often conduct reconnaissance or movement prior to executing an operation. Without the ability to detect, interpret, or conduct physical surveillance effectively, these early warning indicators often go unnoticed.

A lack of physical surveillance knowledge leaves security personnel and civilians alike vulnerable to ambush, targeted crime, theft, or covert activity within their environment. Relying solely on technology such as cameras or sensors is not sufficient; technology can be avoided, disabled, or exploited. Trained human observation remains the most flexible and adaptive early warning tool available.

By learning physical surveillance, individuals and teams can identify suspicious activity, detect hostile intent early, and implement protective or preemptive measures. This capability enhances situational awareness, strengthens operational security, and provides a critical layer of defense that cannot be replicated by technology alone.
